The Yankee Shucker - Oyster Shucking Clamp is a New England Craftsman's upgrade of a traditional French Oyster holder design, a more refined look plus high quality handmade craftsmanship. The Yankee Shucker's longer length is more stable and most importantly the extra length allows your free hand to hold the clamp at the front edge, behind the knife and out of harms way, rather than around the back where it's vulnerable to "knife slips" The Yankee Shucker's "legs" are longer to securely "hook" against the edge of a table or counter, even if it is rounded over.
